AAE Charter Schools Blog

This week, the Senate Appropriations Committee passed the FY 2017 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (Labor-HHS). This act increased the Charter School Program budget by $10 million.

The recent charter school hit piece that came out last month by NPR is just further proof that the anti-charter movement is fueled by misinformation.

Acting as NPR's lead educational blogger, Anya Kamenetz set out to examine the successes of Rocketship charter schools - a network of charters in the San Francisco Bay area that is 14 schools strong and counting.

But as the resulting story would show, Kamenetz turned out to be less of a reporter and more of a spin doctor.
